Challenge Outfitters operates hunts based out of a tent/yurt camp located on the border of our Piney Valley Ranch in game management unit 36. While the camp is actually on private property, the hunts are conducted on adjacent public lands located in the White River National Forest. Clients access the camp by four wheel drive roads through the ranch. The camp is a combination of yurts and tents that provide for cooking and sleeping during the hunt. The camp is furnished to provide for heat, cots, lanterns stoves and all cooking utensils, clients bring their own personal gear and food. They do provide an option to include meals and a cook on this hunt for an additional fee.
Several thousand acres are available to hunters in the National Forest, and numbers of clients are limited in the camp at a time to between 4-6, ensuring for a high quality experience. The area is ideal elk habitat, and clients have in the past have had very good success during the rifle and archery seasons. Access through much of the area is either by foot of horse back, and guests can determine how they'd like to customize their hunt. Guides and horse can be added to the base price of the hunt for fees listed in the panel to the left. Those wanting access thru the ranch to stay in our camp and hunt the national forest can plan on hunting on their own by foot.
This great hunt is designed to meet the needs of several types of hunters, but all enjoy great elk hunting in an ideal setting to pursue elk. Please call us to discuss any questions you may have about this great hunting opportunity.
